Privacy Policy
How Just Stop collects, uses, and protects your data — in plain English, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).
Quick summary
This site is a pre-launch landing page. We collect only your email address, and only if you sign up for our launch list. We don't use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, or third-party scripts. We use one small cookie to remember if you accepted or rejected our cookie banner, and (with your consent) one entry in browser storage to remember your light/dark theme preference. That's everything.
1. Controller
The controller responsible for processing personal data on this website (as defined by the GDPR) is:
David Kerscher
Beethovenstraße 11
85101 Lenting, Germany
Email: David@juststop.app
2. What data we collect
2.1 Email address (only when you sign up)
If you enter your email in the signup form, we store it to send you a single launch announcement. We do not use it for any other purpose, do not share it, and do not sell it.
- Purpose: One-time launch notification.
- Legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) GDPR — your consent, given by clicking the signup button.
- Retention: Until you unsubscribe, or 24 months after launch — whichever comes first.
- Your rights: You can ask us to delete your email at any time by emailing David@juststop.app.
2.2 Server log files
Our hosting provider automatically processes minimal access data when you visit any page — including your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and timestamp. This is standard for every website on the internet. We do not access these logs ourselves except in case of attacks or technical errors.
- Purpose: Site security, uptime, and technical fault analysis.
- Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest in operating a functioning, secure website.
- Retention: Logs are kept by our hosting provider for a maximum of 14 days, then deleted.
2.3 Cookies and local storage
We use exactly two storage items, listed below. We use no analytics, advertising, tracking, or third-party cookies.
- js_consent_v1 (cookie, strictly necessary) — records your choice on our cookie banner. Lifetime: 12 months. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR — required to remember your consent decision.
- jstheme (localStorage, functional, opt-in only) — remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. Only stored if you accept "Functional" in the cookie banner. Lifetime: until you clear it or change preference. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) GDPR — your consent.
You can change your cookie preferences anytime by clicking "Cookie settings" in the footer.
3. Hosting
This website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus. When you access the site, your IP address and browser data are transmitted to Hostinger's servers as a technical requirement to deliver the site. Hostinger is a GDPR-compliant EU-based provider. Their privacy terms: hostinger.com/legal/privacy-policy.
4. Your rights under GDPR
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access (Art. 15): Ask us what data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification (Art. 16): Correct inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure (Art. 17): Request deletion of your data.
- Right to restriction (Art. 18): Limit how we process your data.
- Right to data portability (Art. 20): Receive your data in a portable format.
- Right to object (Art. 21): Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Right to withdraw consent (Art. 7(3)): Withdraw consent at any time, with no effect on lawfulness of past processing.
- Right to lodge a complaint (Art. 77): File a complaint with a supervisory authority. For Germany, find your responsible state authority at bfdi.bund.de.
To exercise any of these rights, email David@juststop.app. We aim to respond within 30 days.
5. Security
This website uses HTTPS to encrypt traffic. Emails collected via the signup form are stored on Hostinger's EU-based infrastructure. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data from unauthorized access, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
6. Changes to this policy
If we materially change how we handle personal data, we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date at the top. For substantial changes affecting people on our launch list, we'll also notify by email.
